An edge card connector assembly has a harness-side portion connectable to acable and acard-side portion adapted to receive a planar structure edgewise therein in aplane of entry. The edgecard connector has a plurality of resilient electrical contacting membersextending through the wall andis adapted for electrical connection with the cable in the harness-sideportion and with the planarstructure in the card-side portion. Upper and lower contacting members aredisposed above and below theplane, respectively, such that the received planar structure impinges on thecontacting members tourge the upper and lower contacting members away from the plane, and the upperand lowercontacting members exert opposing holding pressure on the upper and lowersurfaces of the planar structureat respective contact points.
