A method (i) for determining the prognosis of a patient who has a non-small cell lung cancer tumor, which comprises determining in a sample of said tumor the presence or absence of an E746K, L747S or A755V mutation in the receptor protein of epidermal growth factor (EGFR) or a gene encoding an E746K, L747S or A755V mutation in the EGFR protein, whereby the presence of said mutation in the EGFR protein or of said gene encoding said mutation in the EGFR protein indicates better prognosis compared to the absence of said mutation in the EGFR protein or of said gene encoding said mutation in the EGFR protein； or (ii) to identify a non-small cell lung cancer tumor that is susceptible to treatment with an EGFR inhibitor, which comprises determining the presence or absence of an E746K, L747S or A755V mutation in the EGFR protein or a gene encoding an E746K, L747S or A755V mutation in the EGFR protein in a tumor sample, whereby the presence of said mutation in the EGFR protein or of said gene encoding said mutation in the EGFR protein indicates that the tumor is susceptible to treatment with an EGFR inhibitor.Un método (i) para determinar el pronóstico de un paciente que tiene un tumor de cáncer pulmonar no microcítico, que comprende determinar en una muestra de dicho tumor la presencia o la ausencia de una mutación E746K, L747S o A755V en la proteína del receptor de factor de crecimiento epidérmico (EGFR) o un gen que codifica una mutación E746K, L747S o A755V en la proteína EGFR, mediante lo cual la presencia de dicha mutación en la proteína EGFR o de dicho gen que codifica dicha mutación en la proteína EGFR indica mejor pronóstico en comparación con la ausencia de dicha mutación en la proteína EGFR o de dicho gen que codifica dicha mutación en la proteína EGFR； o (ii) de identificar un tumor de cáncer pulmonar no microcítico que es susceptible a tratamiento con un inhibidor de EGFR, que comprende determinar la presencia o la ausencia de una mutación E746K, L747S o A755V e
