Discloses a composition for parenteral administration, comprising between about 0.02 g/ml and about 0.10 g/ml of dextrose and between about 0.10 g/ml and about 0.20 g/ml of amino acids, wherein the amino acids comprise at least 18% branched chain amino acids, wherein the dextrose and amino acids are dissolved in the same aqueous solution, wherein said solution is sterile and packaged in a sterile container.
