PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmental cleaning material utilizable for degrading malodorous components in a poultry farm, etc., or as a soil conditioner by immobilizing a microorganism used for bio-cleaning in an inorganic porous material present in the natural world and to provide a method for producing the same.

SOLUTION: The environmental cleaning material is obtained by impregnating tuff grains having 1-20 mm average grain diameter with a microorganism degrading a causative material of environmental pollution such as the malodor and contributing to the environmental conservation. The environmental cleaning material as the tuff grains has a mineral composition of 20-30% of quartz, 30-40% of albite, 5-10% of chlorite and 5-10% of zeolite and a chemical composition of 70-75% of SiO2, 10-15% of Al2O3, 4-5% of Na2O, 3-4% of FeO, 2-3% of K2O, 1-2% of CaO, 1-2% of MgO and <1% of TiO2.
