The method involves providing a disinfecting solution, and heating the disinfectant solution at a temperature of 55 degrees Celsius. The heated disinfectant solution is sprayed to obtain disinfectant solution concentration at a constant level in the air in a space e.g. operation theater, where the disinfectant solution comprises a peroxygen acid and/or hydrogen peroxide. A compressing device (55) is utilized for production of compressed air.
