An object of the present invention is to provide mesenchymal stem cells that are highly safe when used as pharmaceuticals. The present invention is a mesenchymal stem cell characterized by low expression of tissue factor (TF). The present invention also includes a mesenchymal stem cell characterized by low expression of at least one integrin gene selected from the group consisting of ITGA11, ITGA1, ITGB5, ITGBL1, ITGB1 and ITGAV. Furthermore, it also includes mesenchymal stem cells characterized by high expression of at least one integrin gene selected from the group consisting of ITGA4, ITGA9, ITGA7 and ITGA10. It is preferable that the mesenchymal stem cells be derived from an allogeneic or adipose tissue.
