The present invention relates to an apparatus capable of assisting standing and sitting which includes a change unit which changes the state of sitting and standing. The change unit comprises a driving unit, a cylinder unit, the change unit, and a connection unit. The driving unit includes: a motor unit which generates driving force and a driving unit which selectively receives the generated driving force and moves the apparatus capable of assisting users in standing and sitting. The cylinder unit changes a state of the apparatus capable of assisting standing and sitting to a standing state or a sitting state. The driving conversion unit selectively receives the driving force, generated by the motor unit, and transmits the driving force to the cylinder unit.
