To an energy delivery system for performing tissue resection at the distal end of an electromagnetic navigation bronchoscope (ENB) device. The system includes a coaxial cable that is insertable through the instrument channel of the steerable instrument cord of the ENB instrument and has a radial tip portion. The radiation tip portion includes a first electrically conductive element electrically connected to the inner conductor of the coaxial cable and a second electrically conductive element electrically insulated from the inner conductor. The conductive elements are arranged to function as an active electrode and a return electrode for delivering RF energy into the tissue surrounding the portion of the spinneret, and as an antenna for emitting microwave energy as a localized microwave field.
