PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair which does not interfere with the movement of the chair by bringing the legs into contact with a floor surface even if force pressing a chair body part downward is rapidly imposed when used as a wheelchair in the chair which is also provided with a function of the wheelchair by moving a base with casters vertically.SOLUTION: A chair 1 according to this invention includes a chair body part 2 having at least a seat plate 21 and legs 22 supporting the seat plate 21, a base 4 arranged under the seat plate 21 and provided with casters 3, pressing members 5 capable of pressing the base 4 downward, and relaxing members 7 composed of multistage hinges, and connecting the chair body part 2 and the base 4 to relax downward force applied to the chair body part 2. The base 2 is moved downward by being pressed by the pressing members 5, the casters 3 land on a floor surface, the legs 22 are separated from the floor surface, and the chair body part 2 is made movable by the casters 3.
