The present invention relates to a novel variety of Brassica campestris var. pekinensis Hongbaechoo and to a method for breeding the same. An interspecific hybrid is obtained from a Chinese cabbage used as a raw material and Brassica lee ssp namai, and an acclimation, a self-incompatibility test and a seed performance test are performed to breed the hybrid. The novel variety of Brassica campestris var. pekinensis Hongbaechoo of the present invention propagates by seed or asexual propagation by tissue culture, and has: (1) a leaf with a slightly elliptical or round shape (2) a midrib with white, pink or red inside and outside, which varies in each individual (3) a head with a round or elliptical shape (4) a lamina (leaf blade) with a blood red front and back, and a portion of the lamina has a purple or black color (5) a white vein, and a portion of the vein has a pink or red color (6) a leaf margin (flange) with small teeth or indentation and pink or red color (7) a sphere with a size one-third to one-fourth of a general Chinese cabbage (8) a glossy leaf surface and a crispy mesophyll and (9) a low self-incompatibility and is of a seed vernalization type like a radish or a Chinese cabbage.
