[Problem] To improve the capability of a disposable diaper of absorbing a viscous liquid component in muddy stool or watery stool. [Solution] A disposable diaper which comprises a packaging sheet (58) for an absorbent body (56), said absorbent body (56) comprising a fiber assembly containing highly absorbent polymer particles (56p) added thereto, wherein: the packaging sheet (58) is provided with a number of permeation holes (58h) at least in an area located in the front side of the absorbent body (56), the diameter of said permeation holes (58h) being larger than the average particle size of the highly absorbent polymer particles (56p) before absorption and smaller than the average particle size of the highly absorbent polymer particles (56p) after absorption and a water-disintegrable or water-soluble cover layer (59), said cover layer (59) covering the permeation holes (58h) in the packaging sheet (58) from the back surface side, is interposed between the packaging sheet (58) and the surface of the absorbent body (56).
