Further disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition comprising a combination comprising (a) tapentadol hydrochloride and b ketamine or memantine which is formulated for oral, intravenous, intraarterial, intraperitoneal, intradermal, transdermal, intrathekal, intramuscular, intranasal, transmucosal, subcutaneous, or rectal administration for use in the treatment of pain selected from inflammatory pain, neuropathic pain, acute pain, chronic pain, visceral pain, migraine pain and cancer pain.
