PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that harvested fruits and vegetables are placed on trays, carried, and classified, and then packed into boxes, but such a work form is usually performed on a comparatively small scale, and consequently a floor area on which a tray conveyor is to be installed is small and easily restricted.
SOLUTION: A system for classifying fruits and vegetables is configured as follows: respective taking-out conveyors 4, which take over and carry trays T classified by a classifying device 3 to take out fruits and vegetables W on the trays T, are arranged in parallel along the outsides of respective classification processes E, which travel in a straight line, on the outside of the classification process E of a tray conveyor 1 which places the trays T on it and reciprocally carries them between a forward process A and a backward process B, these processes traveling in a straight line.
