Provided are: a cosmetic molded article formed substantially from a hyaluronic acid having high permeability into the skin and a comparatively low molecular weight, a water-soluble salt thereof, etc., the cosmetic molded article easily dissolving in water, and having good usability； and a method for manufacturing the cosmetic molded article. A cosmetic molded article is provided that has an average molecular weight of 30,000 or less, is formed of a polyanionic polysaccharide of the hyaluronic acid and/or the water-soluble salt thereof, and is a sponge-form molded body having a bulk density of 5-500 mg/mL. This cosmetic molded article can be manufactured by freeze-drying an aqueous solution in which the content of the polyanionic polysaccharide is 0.5-30 mass%.
