A monohydric-alcohol-containing emulsion that is more stable than prior art emulsions.An emulsion with tolerance to alcohol comprising a monohydric alcohol or a solution in a monohydric alcohol as a solvent and an emulsifier(1) the content of the monohydric alcohol or the solution thereof being 10 wt% or more, based on the total weight of the emulsion(2) the content of the emulsifier being 0.1 to 50 wt%, based on the total weight of the emulsion and(3) the emulsion being in the form of an O/W emulsion, W/O/W emulsion, O/W/O emulsion, or S/O/W emulsion.
