The present invention provides a composition for the treatment of ophthalmic diseases, comprising a solid or semi-solid containing a drug in the form of a elongated body for injecting or delivering into the tissue space of the eye. The composition may comprise a plurality of drug-containing particles and at least one excipient to form the drug particles into a flexible solid or a semi-solid. The excipient disperses and transports the microspheres into the tissue space, including materials that dissolve in physiological conditions of the tissue space after injection.
