According to an embodiment of the present invention, a disinfectant characterized by comprising an aqueous solution containing: hydrogen peroxide； an organic phosphonic acid or a salt thereof； and an aluminum salt can be provided. Further, according to another embodiment of the present invention, a disinfection method for a subject, characterized by bringing mist or vapor of the disinfectant into contact with the subject can be provided. The organic phosphonic acid is preferably a compound represented by general formula (1).
