PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a W/O type skin whitening cosmetic having a nonsticky, moisture feeling of use and a good long-term emulsion stability even if a glass container or a metallic container is filled with the cosmetic.SOLUTION: The W/O type skin whitening cosmetic contains an alkoxy salicylic acid or its salt, an organic modified clay mineral, and a liquid fatty acid. As for the liquid fatty acid, it is selected from 12-22C higher fatty acids that has a straight or branched alkyl chain.
