PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove slime from a fish or a shell fish having slime in a large amount, such as of a sharp-toothed eel, an eel, and a conger.SOLUTION: There are disclosed an agent of treating a fish and a shell fish, constituted of an alkaline regulator containing an alkaline additive and sodium chloride and an agent of treating a fish and a shell fish, constituted of the alkaline regulator containing an alkaline additive and sodium chloride and of an acidic regulator that contains an acidic additive and is to be used as an acidic aqueous solution after the alkaline regulator.
