The apparatus also includes: an SN ratio determination part (178) for determining whether the SN ratio of a specific substance in the frequency spectrum is equal to or less than a threshold or not and a control part (171) causing the reception part to receive a second nuclear magnetic resonance signal from the specific area when the SN ratio is equal to or less than the threshold. The image processing part calculated a frequency spectrum, based on the first nuclear magnetic resonance signal and the second nuclear magnetic resonance signal.
