The anvil assembly includes an anvil center rod assembly, a head assembly pivotally secured to the anvil center rod assembly, and a sleeve member slidably disposed about the anvil center rod assembly. The sleeve member is configured to slide relative to the anvil center rod assembly as the head assembly pivots relative to the anvil center rod assembly.
