The invention relates to a heritable, commensal, gram-negative bacterium that is strictly anaerobic and non-spore-forming, from the family Christensenellaceae, and belonging to an operational taxonomic unit (OTU) characterised by an rRNA sequence 16S SEQ ID N°1, for use as a drug.
