The present invention provides a beverage in which the characteristic flavor and profoundness of wood components derived from wooden containers such as barrels or from wooden pieces are maintained and yet the bitter and astringent taste of the wood components is suppressed to thereby ensure that the beverage can be drunk until it produces a refreshing aftertaste.
