PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant freshness-retaining agent capable of retaining plants for a long period in a fresh state without changing their form and touch feeling. SOLUTION: The plant freshness-retaining agent, which is characterized by being to be used in the form of an aqueous solution, comprises the following components (a) to (c): (a) a random-type alkylene oxide derivative of formula (I): R1O-[(AO)m/(EO)n]-R2, (b) a block-type alkylene oxide derivative of formula (II): R1O-[(AO)m(EO)n]-R2, and (c) a moisturizer. In formulas (I) and (II), AO is a 3-4C oxyalkylene group; EO is an oxyethylene group; m and n are each 1-70; the number ratio of the oxyethylene groups to the total of the 3-4C oxyalkylene groups and the oxyethylene groups is 20-80 mass%; and R1and R2are each a 1-4C hydrocarbon group.
