A hover lawnmower, comprising a housing 1 open on a bottom surface thereof, with the housing defining a skirt 2 surrounding the bottom surface, the skirt having two side walls 5, 6, a front wall 4 and a rear wall 7 all surrounding the bottom surface, each of the side walls joining the front wall and the rear wall, at least one of the side walls joining the front wall at a angle of at most 90 degrees. The angle may be an acute angle. A section of the front wall adjoining the side wall at an angle that is at most 90 degrees may be externally concave and the externally concave sections may be joined by an externally convex section 61, 62.
