A sterilization equipment(1) for wrapper rolls(2) comprises barrel part(6) which the wrapper rolls(2) pass through, supplying source(16) of sterilization liquid, and transfer system(5,7,9,17) used to transfer sterilization liquid from supplying source(16) to barrel part(6). The transfer system comprises buffer vessel(5) to which the sterilization liquid is transferred from supplying source(16), and transfer device(9) used to transfer sterilization liquid from buffer vessel(5) to barrel part(6). The barrel part(6) has self-discharging device(11) used to transfer sterilization liquid back to buffer vessel(5) when the wrapper rolls(2) keep still in barrel part(6). The invention also discloses a method for sterilization of wrapper rolls.
