A method of manufacturing an absorbent structure comprising a substrate layer and superabsorbent particles, said method comprising the steps of providing an essentially endless substrate layer of fibrous non-woven material which is heat sensitive； applying heat to said substrate layer； and depositing superabsorbent particles on said substrate layer.
