A process for preparing a dried malted beverage product. The processcomprises: a) mixing together solid and liquidconstituents of the beverage product in a single vessel so as to form amixture; b) subjecting the mixture in the vessel to heat ata lowered pressure so as to effect drying and granulation of the mixture andform the dried malted beverage product; and c) dischargingthe dried malted beverage product from the vessel. The process is carried outin a single vessel for mixing, drying andgranulation. Suitable solid constituents include one or more selected frommalt extract powder, maltodextrin, cocoa powder, milkpowder /dairy creams, whey powder, salt, flavours, natural colours andmixtures thereof. Suitable liquid constituents include oneor more selected from water, malt extract, caramelised sugar syrup, naturalcolours, flavours, soya lecithin, maltodextrin, and mixturesthereof.
