A horseshoe 1 has a top side which extends in a planar surface without any curvature. In and near the middle 15 the middle segment 5 is thinner over the full width than the side segments 7. The thickness variation of the horseshoe is shown by broken lines 21, which indicate spots on the bottom side of the metal plate that have the same distance to the top side, where the side segments are thickest and the middle is thinnest. These lines 21 clarify also that, seen in front view, the bottom side 11B of the middle segment 5 has a concave shape. The thin portion extends from the middle 15 of the front onward to either side at an angle of approximately 30 degrees see angle 23 which is about two times 30 degrees.
