A portable data-management system based on an analyte testing device which communicates wirelessly with a mobile device. The mobile device runs an application to manage and analyze data obtained by the analyte testing device. The mobile device may assist the user in displaying testing data, identifying patterns to assist healthy behavior or issue warnings based on the collected data.
