PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inhibiting the proliferation of nerve stem cells, to provide a nerve stem cell proliferation inhibitor, and to provide a method for using the same.SOLUTION: A galectin-1 inhibitor such as an anti-galectin-1 and/or an integrin &beta1 inhibitor such as an anti-integrin &beta1 antibody are administered into a human or a vertebrate except the human as a nerve stem cell proliferation inhibitor.
