PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for gamete production using primordial germ cells.SOLUTION: A method for producing and collecting avian gametes includes steps of: providing primordial germ cells from a donor avian species administering the primordial germs cells into a recipient avian species in ovo incubating the recipient avian species to hatch and raising the recipient avian species to sexual maturity and then collecting the gametes of the donor avian species from the recipient avian species.
