PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new methods and dosage forms for drug delivery using sustained release dosage forms for administering opioid analgesics and nonopioid analgesics over a long period of time.SOLUTION: The sustained release dosage form for twice daily oral dosing for providing relief from pain comprises an immediate release component and a sustained release component, wherein the immediate release component and the sustained release component collectively contain a therapeutically effective amount of an opioid analgesic and a therapeutically effective amount of nonopioid analgesic.
