Provided is an ultraviolet sterilization device comprising an ultraviolet sterilization unit which includes the following: a housing which has an opening an ultraviolet transmittance window which has an inner surface and an outer surface on the side opposite the inner surface, which is disposed so that the inner surface thereof faces the inside of the housing in order to block the opening of the housing, and which transmits ultraviolet radiation a light source which has at least one ultraviolet light-emitting diode and which emits ultraviolet radiation as a band-shaped beam of light and a scanning means which can emit the ultraviolet radiation, from the light source, from the inside of the housing across the entire inner surface of the ultraviolet transmittance window, by emitting the ultraviolet radiation that is from the light source while shifting, in a direction intersecting the width-direction of the band-shaped beam of light, the location where the ultraviolet radiation from the light source is incident on the ultraviolet transmittance window.
