Apparatus (10) for sterilizing bottles (14) with a gaseous sterilant, said apparatus (10) comprising: moving means for continuously moving bottles (14) one after another along a path (P), each one of said bottles (14) having an interior a feed conduit sterilant (176) connected at one end to a source of gaseous sterilizing (500) of a predetermined concentration transport means (522) for transporting said gaseous sterilant along said supply of sterilant (176) and a set (110) for dispensing a predetermined amount of said gaseous sterilant from said source of gaseous sterilizing (500) to each of said cylinders (14) when said bottles (14) are arranged along a first portion of said path (P), said assembly (110): a plurality of injectors (162) movable with said bottles (14) in which one of said plurality of injectors (162) associated with each of said bottles (14 ) as said bottle (14) moves along said first portion of said path (P), said injector (162) being in fluid connection with said source of gaseous sterilizing (500) when said bottle (14) associated with said injector (162) is disposed along said first portion of said path (P) so that said predetermined amount of said gaseous sterilant is transported around said bottle (14) and into said interior of said bottle (14) , pudien do move said injector (162) between a first position and a second position relative to said bottle (14) as said bottle (14) moves along said path (P), said injector being arranged (162) above said bottle (14) when said injector (162) is in said first position and said injector (162) within said interior of said bottle (14) being arranged when said injector (162) is in said second position so said predetermined amount of said gaseous sterilant is transported to said interior of said bottle (14) and a carriage (142) for moving each of said plurality of injectors (162) between said first position and said second position, said carriage (142) being sized to move within a slot (154) formed in a guide
