A centrepin reel casting accessory 1, removably attached to a fishing rod 11, comprising an arm 3, with a line guide 4, which has swiveling means such that in a first position the arm extends in direction substantially perpendicular to a fishing rod, preferably the casting position, and in a second position the arm extends in a direction substantially parallel to the fishing rod. Preferably, the line guide is positioned below the rod, when in use. The line guide can be perpendicular to the centre point of the rod when in the first position and the distance between the guide and rod when in the first position is preferably greater than 95mm and is advantageously 125mm. Further, the line guide may direct the fishing line 13 over a shoulder of the fishing reel. The reel casting accessory can be attached to a fishing rod by means of a clip 2 and the swiveling means may comprise a locking mechanism which contains pins (Fig. 2, 8). With the line guide in the second position, the guide may function as an additional rod line guide.
