Provided is an aqueous composition for ophthalmic use, whereby it becomes possible to prevent the weight of a polybutylene terephthalate-containing resin container for ophthalmic use from being changed.An aqueous composition for ophthalmic use is prepared, which comprises: at least one component which is selected from the group consisting of a polysaccharide, a monosaccharide, at least one vitamin component selected from the group consisting of vitamin B12, vitamin B2, vitamin A and panthenol, at least one oil component selected from the group consisting of a plant oil, an animal oil and a mineral oil, at least one surfactant selected from the group consisting of polyoxyethylene castor oil, polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil, polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene glycol and polyoxyl stearate, an anti-allergic component, a preservative, a thickening component, a polyhydric alcohol, an anti-inflammatory component, an anti-bacterial agent and a cooling agent and (B) a buffering agent.
