PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic containing an additive with improved safety for humans and even better adhesion to the skin than conventional cosmetics, and the cosmetic with the additive which can improve safety for humans and coatability onto the skin.SOLUTION: A cyclic N-vinyl lactam-based crosslinked polymer having a structural unit derived from a cyclic N-vinyl lactam, where the cyclic N-vinyl lactam based crosslinked polymer has a viscosity measured under the following conditions of 100 mPa s or more and less than 10000 mPa s. Sample: 5 mass% aqueous dispersion of the cyclic N-vinyl lactam-based crosslinked polymer, stirred for 16 hours. Measurement instrument: measure the above sample at 25°C using a B type viscometer.
