The heart rate monitor system furthermore comprises an analyzing unit (200) configured to analyze an output signal (101) from the heart rate sensor (100) and to determine a warming up status of a user based on the analyzed output signal (101) from the optical heart rate sensor (100), wherein the analyzing unit (200) comprises a signal analyzer (210) configured to analyze at least one of an AC component of the output signal (101), a DC component of the output signal (101), and a pulse morphology of the output signal (101) and a warm-up detector unit (220) configured to detect a warm-up status of the user based on a detected blood perfusion according to signal characteristics of the AC component, the DC component or the pulse morphology of the output signal (101).
