PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup system capable of reducing a time spent for treatment to be performed for a biological tissue more than usual.
SOLUTION: The image pickup system has: a lighting means for emitting illumination lights which have a prescribed wavelength band beyond at least 1200 nm wavelength a reflected light suppressing means for obstructing the reflected light reflecting in the first living tissue present near a surface of the living issue out of the illumination lights emitted to the living tissue and letting a reflected light reflected in a second living tissue present in the living tissue pass with at least a part of the first living tissue covered an image pickup means which has sensitivity in an infrared area beyond at least 1200 nm wavelength and picks up an image of the living tissue based on the reflected light reflected in the second living tissue and a positioning means for keeping a distance between the reflected light suppressing means and the image pickup means to a prescribed distance.
