PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proliferation promotion method of black snails capable of increasing the production of young shellfish of black snails in a relatively-short period as the production of the young shellfish is hardly promoted by artificial means in a conventional breeding method.SOLUTION: The proliferation promotion method of black snails, which breeds parent shellfish of a black snail which becomes bait for a larva of a firefly in water to let it spawn young shellfish, is characterized by lessening a fluctuation range of a water pH value than a predetermined value after varying the water pH value only by the predetermined value within a value range suitable for breeding the parent shellfish to stabilize the pH value so that the parent shellfish can be prompted to lay eggs.【課題】従来の飼育方法では、人工的に稚貝の発生を促進させることは困難である。そこで、比較的短期間にカワニナの稚貝の発生量を多くすることが可能なカワニナの繁殖促進方法を提供する。【解決手段】蛍の幼虫の餌となるカワニナの親貝を水中で飼育して稚貝を産卵させるカワニナの繁殖促進方法であって、水中で親貝を飼育する際に、水のｐＨ値を親貝の飼育に適した数値範囲内で所定値だけ変化させた後にｐＨ値の変動幅を前記所定値よりも小さくしてｐＨ値を安定させることによって親貝に産卵を促すようにしたことを特徴とする。【選択図】図４（ａ）
