The invention relates to a method for composing mixed bouquets. According to the invention an endless transporting device 101 is used and the method comprises the steps of bringing portions of plant parts 111 at a supply location next to the transporting device onto the endless transporting device in such a way that said portions of plant parts are arranged in the direction of transport and form a series, and each portion i comprises at least n(i) times z plant parts, wherein n is an integer from 1 to 5 and for each portion i, n is chosen independently, at least half of the portions of a series of plant parts contain plant parts of a single type； and transporting the series of portions of plant parts by means of the endless transporting device 101 towards z pick up locations where plant parts are taken from the portions of plant parts n(i) and are assembled into mixed bouquet 109. The invention also relates to an assembly for carrying out the method comprising an endless transport device 101, a movable platform 106 equipped to process plant parts, a guide 104 extending along the length of the transporting device for guiding the movable platform.
