The present invention provides a nano material based multilayer wound dressing system with ideal wound dressing comprises of three layers namely, a hydrophilic electro-spun nano fiber primary layer as skin contact layer hydrophilic non woven or electrospun fibrous secondary layer as absorbing layer and a hydrophobic film or bandage as top protective layer. The primary wound contact layer is fused with antibiotics and is made of natural silk and its copolymers with other biodegradable, biocompatible polymers. The secondary layer is also made of natural silks and is incorporated with super absorbents to absorb wound exudates and maintain the required moisture level at the wound site. The final top protective layer is used to retain the wound dressing system on the wound site and to protect the wound and other two layers from water, heat and other environmental contaminants.
