Provided herein are compositions comprising a least one marcolide anthelmintic compound such as ivermectin or a compound of formula (II) and at least one spirodioxepinoindole derivative or a spirooxepinoindole derivative such as 2-desoxoparaherquamide for combating parasites in birds and mammals. The compositions may also comprise an anticestodal agent such as praziquantel or albendazole. Also provided is an improved method for eradicating, controlling and preventing parasite infestation in birds and mammals.
