This belt-shaped body (1) has, in plan view in a spread-out state, a longitudinal direction (L) corresponding to the direction encircling the torso of an animal, and a width direction (W) corresponding to the front-back direction of the animal, and also has an abdomen-corresponding region (AC) corresponding to the abdomen of the animal and including an axis line (CW) that extends in the width direction (W) and is located in the center relative to the longitudinal direction (L), and two back-corresponding regions (A1, A2) that correspond to the back of the animal and that are located in both portions adjacent to the abdomen-corresponding region (AC) in the longitudinal direction (L). At least in the abdomen-corresponding region (AC), the rigidity in the width direction (W) is higher than the rigidity in the longitudinal direction (L).
