The present invention provides a novel pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of increased intraocular pressure based on partially fluorinated alkanes useful as a carrier for a wide range of active ingredients. A preferred active ingredient is a water-soluble prostaglandin analog. The composition can be administered topically to the eye.
