PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide devices and methods facilitating sleeve gastrectomy procedures.SOLUTION: A medical device 10 comprises: a flexible tube that is hollow and contains a channel extending from a proximal opening to a distal closed tapered end； a series of perforations or openings towards the distal end of the tube allowing suction fixation of tissue； and a flexible component alongside the tube that when deployed allows the stretching of a stomach to its original shape. The application of suction places the tube along a lesser curvature of the stomach, fixes anterior and posterior walls of the stomach, and prevents movement of the walls while a surgeon transects the stomach.
