The present invention provides a paper treating agent which can provide an improved feeling which is a property different from the smoothness conventionally examined when pressure is applied, for example, when blowing the nose.The paper treating agent of the present invention is a paper treating agent mainly composed of (A) a polyhydric alcohol, and comprises (B) a sucrose fatty acid ester having an acyl group having a carbon number more than 12 and less than 22 and an HLB of 11 or more, and (C) an ionic surfactant, wherein the mass ratio (C/B) of the component (C) to the component (B) is 0.65 to 24. According to the paper treating agent of the present invention, a slick feeling which is an unconventional specific and unique feeling of smoothness can be obtained when pressure is applied, for example, when blowing the nose.本發明提供一種紙類處理劑，係在如擤鼻涕等加壓時可得到與以往所檢討平滑感為不同性質之經改良的觸感。本發明之紙類處理劑係以(A)多元醇為主成分之紙類處理劑，且含有(B)具有碳數超過12且未達22之醯基且HLB為11以上之蔗糖脂肪酸酯、及(C)離子性界面活性劑，(C)成分相對於(B)成分之質量比(C/B)為0.65至24。根據本發明之紙類處理劑，在如擤鼻涕等般將紙強力壓於肌膚時，可得到不同於以往的特別之獨特平滑感之滑順感。
