To provide a composition having dilatancy properties and suitable as a cosmetic component for humectants, massage agents and the like and a material applied to shock-absorbing agents and the circumference of automobile cranks.
SOLUTION: The dilatancy composition comprises (A) an O/W type emulsion in which oil droplets have &le 0.2&mu m average particle size and a mass rate of an oil component and a surfactant is in the range of the oil component: the surfactant=> 10:1 to &le 20:1 and (B) a nonionic water-soluble high polymer having &ge 20,000 to < 300,000 weight average molecular weight in &ge 0.1 mass% to < 5 mass%.
