PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily perform both an advancing/retreating and twisting operation and an operation of a joint of a treatment instrument having a joint using only one hand, and achieve excellent operability.SOLUTION: A medical device 1 includes: a treatment instrument 2 having an elongated trunk part 21 having flexibility, a tip treatment part 22 located at the tip of the trunk part 21, a joint part 23 for connecting the trunk part 21 and the tip treatment part 22 a drive part 3 connected to a base end of the trunk part 21 for supplying the joint part 23 with the drive force to actuate the joint part 23 a body 41 having dimensions and a shape that can be gripped by an operator with one hand and an operation member 42 arranged at a position where it can be operated using fingers of the one hand that grip the body 41 in which an operation instruction to the joint part 23 is input.
